Parkwater Estate is a proud to be making an impact in protecting the environment. When the development was planned out in the beginning, we decided to donate over 30% of the land inhabited by native forest and animals to the National Trust in perpetuity giving the residence shared ownership in the forest that surrounds the Estate. This was designed in a way which reduced unnecessary clearing so that the residence could all enjoy this wonderful native habitat for generations to come, instilling confidence that the native forest would be protected in the future.
The firebreaks throughout the forest not only act as fire safety for the community, but also lend themselves to walking and biking trails throughout the forest and around the Estate. We are also a huge supporter of the renewable energy sector and we are encourage locals two be as environmentally friendly and as green as possible. It is part of our initiative to develop the community to become as self sufficient and renewable as possible – choosing community (family) and the planet above all else. Much of the Cowaramup community is already on this path, just head on down to the Black Sheep deli/cafe to see how they are making a stand to be as environmentally friendly as possible! We aim to inspire others on what is possible, not only living within nature, but also what can be done by individuals. Many of our community members grow their own produce, collect their own rainwater and produce far more energy than they consume! With an abundance of fresh air produced by our own forest and an excess supply of fresh water collected and energy produced by our members, we are the most healthy and grateful community in Australia!!! (If we do say so ourselves)
We would love you to come and visit us – be a part of this beautiful slice of heaven!! With some fantastic green initiatives on offer for the up-coming exclusive release, including free green energy for two years, what are you waiting for?
